The Faith & Freedom Coalition issued the following statement this morning by chairman and founder Ralph Reed in recognition of the first anniversary of the terrorist attack by Hamas against Israel carried out on October 7, 2023.
“One year ago today, the world witnessed the most horrific day of bloodshed for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. The barbaric terrorism of Hamas, the heart-wrenching loss of innocent life, and the unspeakable suffering of over a thousand Israelis, including, women, children and the elderly, will never be forgotten. October 7th was a reminder of the existence of pure evil.
“Violence against the Jewish state was not confined to October 7th, but neither has the courage, resilience, and heroism of the Israeli people. Since last year, the small but mighty nation built upon the words ‘Never Again’ has waged a righteous war of self-defense against Hamas and other Iranian proxy forces committed to its annihilation—enemies not just of Israel, but America too. It is imperative that U.S. leaders never lose sight of the importance of the bond between our two countries and continue to support Israeli security however necessary.
“Those who have turned their backs on Israel over the past year are as shameful as they are loud, but Israel’s friends — especially evangelical Christians — are more determined than ever to defend the Jewish state, vanquish the scourge of antisemitism, and ensure the return of every single hostage. On behalf of the three million members of Faith & Freedom Coalition, I offer our deepest prayers of comfort and peace to our Jewish friends everywhere on this solemn day. We will never abandon you.”
