WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, Vice President Mike Pence led a roundtable discussion in Waukesha, WI, on the topic of school choice. Faith & Freedom Coalition, with over 2 million members and supporters, joins the White House in calling on Congress to pass the Education Freedom Scholarship and Opportunity Act. This Act will give an additional 1 million children the freedom to attend the school of their choice.
Vice President Pence shared that the White House is working on a new program that would make more than $5 billion available across the country in the form of Education Freedom Scholarships. This will help empower parents to be able to choose which school their children go to.
“We commend the White House and Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, for prioritizing education and doing an excellent job leading our country during this unprecedented time,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “We echo what President Trump said in his speech announcing the executive order on police reform saying, ‘all children deserve equal opportunity because we are all made equal by God.’ The Education Freedom Scholarship and Opportunity Act gets us one step closer to creating equal opportunities for all children in the United States.”
