Faith & Freedom Coalition Applauds the Confirmation of Gen. Charles Q. Brown as Air Force Chief of Staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, the Senate confirmed Gen. Charles Q. Brown as the next Air Force chief of staff. This makes General Brown the first African American leader of a military service branch and the second African American officer to sit on the Joint Chiefs of Staff since Chairman Gen. Colin Powell. Faith & Freedom Coalition commends President Donald Trump for nominating Brown in March and for once again choosing a qualified and excellent leader for our country.

The Senate vote was 98-to-0, giving complete approval for the four-star general.

“On behalf of the over 2 million members and supporters of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, we congratulate General Charles Brown on his confirmation to be the next Air Force chief of staff,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “President Trump has once again chosen a great leader for our country. General Brown was formerly the commander of the Pacific Air Forces, responsible for 46,000 airmen and operations spread over half the globe. He is sure to do an excellent job leading our Air Force.”

General Brown was commissioned in 1984 as a distinguished graduate of the ROTC program at Texas Tech University. He is a command pilot with more than 2,900 flying hours, including 130 combat hours.
